I’m creating my first typeform but can only see the questions when editing and can’t drag or drop anything or see the side menus to change question type.

This looks like the mobile view which has limited functionality. Is your browser window definitely full screen?
Which browser are you using? Are you able to use Chrome or Firefox and see if you have the same issue?
