Identifying Respondents

Im doing my first Typeform!

What do people suggest as the best way to gather basic identifying information about who completes the survey and, more importantly, answers specific key questions?

I’m thinking from a Lead gernation perspective.

My form is basically a feedback form to people who downloaded a whitepaper, but I guess once I email the people the form link they become annonyumous unless I explicitly ask for name / email address etc. or is there some clever workaround I’m unaware of?

thanks!

If you have their email already you are more than halfway there! you can add the email address to the link you send back to them and it will work as a ‘hidden field’ inside Typeform.

check out this link here to learn more about hidden fields, then the following will make a little more sense:

  • in your typeform, go to the Advanced Logic tab and create the hidden fields that need ie email, etc. - this way you have a receiving spot for the next step
  • then for your link (to go in email to respondents) set up the link along these lines:

https://yourformname.typeform.com/to/sjvsXIYH#email=XXXXX

replace the XXXXX string with the email of your respondent (you can add other fields if you want as well as long as you have the data and have the hidden fields identified in your typeform)

that should get you along the path to where you want to be.

or at least i hope so
