Hello,

I have created a form where teaches rate themselves  on their performance en 11 different areas. in each area (section) there are 5or 6  different questions where they rate themselves fro 1-4.

at the end of the survey I would like them to see how thy have scored in each section overall, and then provide some  next steps. For example, if they scored between 1-2 (which is low) on ‘knowing the subject,’ i would advise them to do a further in depth survey

Is this possible? I cannot understand how to do this from the instructions I have been sent.

Hi @Anne Wiseman thanks for reaching out, this is definitely possible with Typeform, and there are a few different ways to approach the set up, depending on the outcomes you need. Typeform has scoring features which would allow you to calculate how the teachers are doing and show them a result with guidance on where they need to improve. I’m wondering if using our Knowledge Quiz feature would be a good option for you? Have a look at this Help Center guide and see whether that would work.

We also have these articles:

Hopefully they can provide some more information, but if you have further questions, let us know!

Thanks Grace I’ve looked at the video and gone through the instructions but I’m not sure this is exactly what I want.

the knowledge quiz you suggest is based on there being a right answer. What I want is for teachers to see the results are of their own self assessment. So for example if they put between 1 and 2 for alll the questions in section 1 , ( there are 5 questions asking them to self assessment their knowledge  of English language) what is the mean average for that section? So how are they doing ? Based on that average there would be a comment directing them to a next stage.

so it is not a knowledge test with a right or wrong answer.
can Typeform accommodate the type of survey I need ?

I see, thanks for clarifying @Anne Wiseman. I believe you could use a numeric question type, like Rating, Opinion Scale or Number and then use variables and branching to find the average score. You could then use Recall information to display the result in the form.

@john.desborough have you built something like this before? Wondering if you’ve got a template you could share?

@Grace @Anne Wiseman - i don’t have a template but this is fairly simple to build out:

  • you need to create sub-total variables for each of the categories and use logic rules to add values into them
  • i would recommend using question groups to collect and assess the subtotal score for that group and then have a set of statement pages with recommendations for each of the ranges (ie one for 1-2, one for 3-4, one for 5)
    • use the logic rules to get the user to the right statement page for that section then move on.

Thanks John,

I don’t really understand how to do any of what you have suggested at this stage but will look again at the user guide and follow your suggestions. This is all very new to me and I am not very digitally literate  so I am learning as I go  along.

Thanks again
