400

That's the number of ads I have watched since May 1st (as my Google Ads Transparency Center shows).

Hope anyone from Typeform staff reads this and tell the marketing performance team to use frequency capping.

Thanks

Hey @traste welcome to the community and thanks for flagging this! 😊

I’ve passed it over to our marketing team, they normally use frequency capping so they’re going to investigate why this is happening.

We certainly don’t want to be spamming anyone with our ads so thanks for bringing this to our attention!

Thanks. Please find below a couple of links from your YouTube campaign. You can match them to a campaign using the gclid parameter:

Also, so you can see I'm lot lying, I've attached a screenshot of my ad transparency center data:

Thanks @traste seems like you’re not the only one to flag this, I will pass along the screenshots and extra info 🙏

Hi @Grace! I see your team is doing great! Now I have reached 500 ads, only in 30 days! :D

Please if you need help, do contact me through LinkedIn so I fix it for you 🙂 You can also just add my email to a “customer match” audience list and exclude it from all campaigns.

In the meantime, I don’t watch videos on YouTube anymore.

Hi @traste thanks for checking back in, I’m really sorry you’re still seeing a rise in ads 🙈

The team are aware of it and are working on a solution at the moment. We do use frequency capping in normal YouTube campaigns, but we've started using the new Demand Gen product from Google which doesn't have the same capping functionality. We've raised the issue with Google and in the meantime are going to look at adjusting the frequency of campaigns to try and resolve this.

Hey @traste just jumping on to this as @Grace is on hols. I’ve checked with our marketing team and they tell me we already do exclusions of all our typeform customers in our campaigns using different methods. They are currently revising what’s happening with Google. I’m guessing you’re logged into YouTube with the one you use for your Typeform account right? According to the ads team here this shouldn’t be happening 😖

Hi, Jame!

I see you’re doing your best to fix the issue. Anyway, don’t get me wrong… this is not only about me getting tons of ads. It’s about your campaigns ruining your budget.

Regarding what you mention, yes, I’m logged into my YouTube account with the same email address.

In case you want to add further info to your LCS team at Google, you could do this (in case you haven’t already):

  • Create an audience in GA4 for customers and check whether customer are coming to your site through CPC/video/etc. (filter out Demand Gen campaigns):

That proves Google is not excluding users in the audience from the campaigns.

  • Get a list of glic/dclic parameter values and send them to your assigned Google team:

Good luck!

Nice one, thanks for all this info @traste , very kind of you to share 😃 I’ll pass this on to the ads team and hopefully they can solve the issue soon. Thanks again!

Hi @James,

Please Talk to your assign Google AM or IH about this (not the regular Dublin specialists teams!). You are wasting money on YouTube. I guess I'm not the only one getting tons of ads.

Check out my lat 30 days on Ads Transparency Center. I'm really watching your Ad every 10 minutes while using YouTube 😭

Hey @traste sorry to hear you’re getting hit with all of these ads. I’m forwarding this to our paid media team for them to look into – every 10 minutes really does seem excessive 😕

Hey @traste just a quick update to say I’ve flagged your most recent post with our paid ads team. They are super grateful for your input and are working with our Google account manager and demand gen product specialist to get a definitive answer on why this is happening. From what they say, it sounds like it’s the demand gen campaigns that are causing the problem as there’s less (or zero?!) scope for controlling frequency thresholds. It’s being looked into.

Also the team will check to see if your account email is on the exclusion lists and see if the issue there is due to Google not matching to the user or due to an issue in the list we are pulling internally of current users.

I’ll ping you back with any updates as I hear anything. Thanks again for alerting us to this :)

Hi @James! Thanks for the update. Don’t get me wrong… it’s not that I’m pissed. I used to work as an account specialist and I know how tricky these things are. Hope I can help your team save your budget!
