I’ve had zero complaints about Typeform up until right now.  The platform has had its growing pains, but there has always been good support and it felt like the value was there for what I’ve been paying over the years.

You added the ability to capture partial responses, and that is incredible.  It’s easy to drag and drop into place - it’s an exceptional value add to Typeform’s current offering.

But, to use it on a form that also uses logic requires me to upgrade to a plan that costs more than 3.5x what I pay right now.

Logic is the reason that I’ve excitedly promoted your company and talked other people into moving their surveys to Typeform for years.  Logic is the edge that Typeform has over every other similar service on the market.

To require me to not use your best feature in order to capture partial responses is an arbitrary limitation that serves no purpose except to force me into upgrading my plan.

Even if I were to upgrade, the number of partial responses I could capture is limited by the total number of responses I already pay for each month.  I’m already paying for the extra bandwidth these partial captures would use, you’re just arbitrarily blocking the functionality.

I might understand the limitation if I was simply unable to add a partial capture point within the split logic of a question without upgrading, however, if there is any logic used anywhere in the form, I cannot use partial captures without upgrading.

Even if the capture point is between 2 questions that do not use logic of any kind, but there is logic somewhere else in the form, I cannot use a partial capture without upgrading.

Were you guys recently sold, or is there a new owner?  This is the kind of stuff that happens when a good company comes under the control of someone who decides to abandon the pursuit of delivering an excellent product and customer experience, and instead focuses solely on maximizing profits.  It’s sad.

Still a customer, no longer a fan.

Hi @Jake Charlson Thanks for stopping by the community and being so open with this! Your support for Typeform over the years means a lot to us, and we never want anyone feeling like they’re losing trust in our product. I completely get where you’re coming from—logic is a huge strength of Typeform (and my favorite feature), and making the new partial responses feature accessible while using logic feels like a given.

The reality is, the tech required to make partial responses work in complex forms with logic (or even simple forms!) does come at a cost on our end, and we need to cover that to keep the feature running smoothly. It’s not about trying to push people into higher plans, but rather balancing what’s possible with the resources it requires. That said, your feedback is a great reminder that we should communicate these things more transparently and, ideally, continue refining the way we roll out these features.

I know this probably seems like the usual ol’ standard company response, but I do want you to know that I believe your feedback really highlights the importance of making these features feel accessible and intuitive while also ensuring it doesn’t feel like we’re putting anyone in a tough spot.

I’ll make sure this is passed along to our team because the way you’ve laid this out is exactly what we need to keep improving. Thank you again for sticking with us and sharing your thoughts so candidly. Even if we’re not at “favorite” status right now, we’re always here to listen and keep working to earn that spot back! 😉
