How interact with icon can save answer in first step of the survey

mateusz.martyn

Hi there, I have a question. Is it possible to save an answer triggered by users click on specific icon on a website?

My case:

  1. User decides what is his/her opinion about search result and pick one of emoji.
  2. The icon which he/she picked up triggers an answer on the first step of survey and user sees the second page. (I want to avoid a case when user has to answer twice the same question).

PS. I know that is possible with other similar tools, but I want to stay with my fav one (typeform <3).

Thank you for your help

@mateusz.martyn @Liz - maybe if you ‘mapped’ each of the icons to the specific url of the typeform and passed in a hidden field ie #icon=one or #icon=1… then in the typeform start the branching a logic with the hidden fields logic rules:

  • if icon=one then jumpto q2
  • if icon= two then jumpto q3..

etc..

Hi @mateusz.martyn Welcome to the community! While we have this feature in an email embed, we don’t currently have this for embedding on a website.

@mathio or @picsoung do you know of any hack-y workarounds?

Great question @mateusz.martyn!

I think @john.desborough suggestion solution would work great.
An alternative could be to create a multiple-choice (or picture choice) with all the different options as the first question of your form and then preselect the choice as explained in this help center article.

You may even be able to get the HTML snippet from the share page with all the smileys pre-populated.
(check the “embed in an email” option)

Thank You very much! @john.desborough – it works perfect, but I also used an idea of @picsoung (I used star-raiting 1st question and prepared different links for every each one. So URLs look like:

https://form.typeform.com/to/<my survey code>#answers-search-result-csi=1

Happy the solutions over here worked to you, @mateusz.martyn! By the way, why don't you share the link to your form and website with us? We'd love to take a look at it and give some feedback! Have a great weekend!

@Gabi Amaral Thank You. My survey (and also website) is in Polish, so I thought that is worthless. But of course I’m happy to share it with others. Thank you in advance for your feedback!
