How do I make a question optional?

I am trying to get a feedback form build where the respondant can leave comments if they want to. I don't seem to be able to find the option to submit without the content in the text box?

Hey @bidhdsurveys. Welcome to the Typeform Community! 🤗

If you mark your question as required, the respondent will need to answer it to be able to submit the form. However, if you don't do that, then the respondent has the option to skip the question and submit the form even without adding an answer to the question. For more context, questions with asterisk * are the ones marked as required. :)

I hope this clarifies your question! Let us know if you need further help.

Hi @bidhdsurveys I’m a bit late to the party here, but you should still be able skip past that question and then submit the form. 😀

Hi

I have the same issue.

The last question is optional but the submit button isn’t visible untill they type something in the field. Which makes it feel more required than optional.

Hi @Jens Roels Thanks for the feedback! Is the respondent able to scroll past the last question?

Hey @Liz

They are able to to that. If they scroll past it the buttons shows up. But the scrolling is’t that easy to do.

Due to this it’s not very clear that they can skip it since the Typeform automatically moves them to the next question by clicking on a button not by scrolling.

My hypothesis is that more people will be able to submit it if they see a submit button while the field is empty.

here is a link to the screen recording to visualise the problem
