Email notifications based on answer

Looking to send an email to respondents who answer ‘yes’ to a question. In looking at the knoweledge base, if I’m interpreting this correctly, I can only do that with a gmail (not my business email/domain), right?

SNAGGED FROM KNOWLEDGE BASE:

Send email notifications or follow-ups from new typeform entries

If you want to send email notifications or follow-ups from new typeform entries, you can do that using Zapier.

Hi @CoSkier, Michaela from Integromat here

Just chiming in with an alternative way of achieving this, i.e. building an automation with Integromat using a Typeform module and a universal Email module.

With this specific automation (or scenario as we call them), Integromat:

  • watches out for new Typeform submissions
  • filters those that contain the ‘yes’ answer to a specific question
  • sends out automated emails to those interviewees who selected the ‘yes’ answer

The main reason why I’m stepping in is the fact that you can set the emails to be sent from any email service provider:

I’m also casually gonna leave the support documentation for Integromat’s Email module here in case you wanted to give it a go

Have a lovely day, everyone :sunny:

Hi @CoSkier. Welcome to the Typeform Community! :hugging:

This integration would work if you're using Gmail as your email provider (even if this is your business email/domain). Would you know what your current email provider is?

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Hi

I am just sending out 3 question surveys to our clients.  After they they answer the questions how do I see who has replied?  I can just see their 1 to 10 choices and not who has sent it.  I will be sending out about 6 a month in one day so need to see who has replied.

Thank you

@BrittH - welcome to the community from a fellow user

you will need to capture the email address or other identifier of the user that will allow you to  identify the users. you could add in a question in your form for that OR, since you are sending the questions out the clients, you already have the email address.

you can use what is called a hidden field

  • in your survey form, go to Advanced Logic tab and add a hidden field called email
  • in the link that you are going to send out to your users, add the details about the hidden field like follows:
  • replace the name of the form with the correct link and the XXXX string with the individual email addresses

when the user clicks on this link in their email, it will take them to your survey and the email address will be available to the hidden field you just created..

hope that helps a little

@BrittH - in your typeform did you set up the hidden field - i will call it “email” as in the image from a form of mine

that one picked up the hidden variables passed by the following url

https://myformname.typeform.com/to/sjvsXIYH#email=Thanks __ __, now for your email to make sure that we have the correct email address for the next step&firstname=Would you please provide us with your name so that we don't have say "Hey you!"?&lastname=And now your last name, please and thanks, __.

this url comes from another typeform that asks those questions.

here is a pic of where i pull the fields into the receiving form

from you notes above, you already have the emails of the client, so if you are sending them out in an email to me for example, you should simply be able to send the ‘share/copy link” button and paste it into your email (to send to someone one) and add the “#email=username@mailco.com”

that should work just as easily to test..

I use Typeform Essentials. This is what I want to achieve:

I am creating a quote form for a service company. The user will choose the city closest to him/her. When the form is submitted, I want the form to be sent to different e-mails depending on what city he/she chose.

Example: User chooses City B. When submitting the form, the form is sent to cityb@email.com. User chooses City C. When submitting the form, the form is sent to cityc@email.com.

Which is the best way to achieve this?
