Hey everyone! We’re back with another episode of VideoAsk Voyagers 🛸

We recently had an inspiring chat with Ankita Mehta, founder of Yum Tum, a community led initiative creating immersive virtual team building experiences.

We learned how a Typeform COVID-19 discount was able to quickly help launch this project which has grown from local online cooking classes to a variety of international team building experiences.

“These are both really powerful tools, the amount you can do with them, not just in streamlining your process but also in terms of providing an awesome experience to your customers, is insane” - Ankita Mehta

During the conversation we talked about:

  • Launching in a day using just Facebook Groups, Typeform and Stripe.

  • Discovering VideoAsk and its ability to provide quality interactions at scale.

  • The importance of understanding the customer and creating an engaging user journey.

  • How Anki’s love of personal interactions helped build the Yum Tum community.

Anki’s tips and learnings:

  • When sharing your videoasks, don’t forget to track how customers are interacting with you via clickthrough rates in emails and results and metrics in your VideoAsk account. How a customer interacts with your videoask can help you decide what changes to make.

  • Run A/B tests on videos to determine which get the best responses and when to add them in during the customer journey.

  • Early user research to understand any customer pain points can be really helpful. Often we only focus on the questions we (the founder/business) need answering, but that’s not necessarily how the customer is seeing the experience. Try to find out what questions the customer has, this will help to create a more natural flow to the experience.

  • If you’re feeling camera shy, don’t worry! Practice makes perfect as they say! Creating videos to send to friends and customers for feedback can really help define the tone you want to set - ask them how friendly and trustworthy you sound.

Thanks @john.desborough @andrew_videoask glad you enjoyed it!

It was great to learn how they’re using both tools but also the decision process behind it, some good advice from Anki on research and A/B testing

@Grace - nice to see someone else doing A/B testing with the tools.. and how they did it..

I think what most people ‘forget’ is that in most cases A/B testing is a process that is driven outside of VideoAsk and Typeform - the results and insights help you understand which version ‘worked better’
