Getting more accurate insights on a form

Hi! Is there a way to exclude views, starts, and completions from specific IP addresses so we have more accurate insights / statistics on how our lead gen form is performing? Multiple people on our team have viewed, started and completed the form as we’ve been testing and refining the form.

Hey @Dave L  Great question—right now, Typeform doesn’t offer a way to exclude views, starts, or completions based on IP address. That means any internal testing by your team will be included in your form’s Insights (also worth noting: deleting responses won’t adjust the Insights)

A couple of workarounds that might help:

  • Use hidden fields for testing: you could use URL parameters to add something like tester=true to your URL when testing internally. This won’t stop those sessions from appearing in Insights, but it does let you filter them out of your response data later on.
  • Create a duplicate form for testing: using a separate “test” version of your form for internal checks is probably the best way to keep your live form completion data accurate.
  •  Use external analytics tools: if your form is embedded on your site, you might be able to use Google Tag Manager or similar tools to segment internal traffic—but this won’t impact Typeform’s built-in analytics.

Hope this helps somewhat, let me know if you need any pointers setting up hidden fields or duplicating forms.

Cheers

James
