What is the # and Network ID means? (in the response excel file)

Hi @woochul That’s a great question! The # (or Response ID) is a unique ID we generate for every response.

The Network ID is related to the device the respondent is submitting the form on. If you see that ID multiple times, it’s because someone is submitting a form from the same computer/device.

I hope that helps!

Hi TF! Can I check - is the Response ID completely unique to the device, or could several devices in the same workplace on the same network come up as the same ID? Thanks!

Hi @AmeliaSarah Great question! The response ID is unique to every response. However, the Network ID is unique to the device/respondent. So, if the same person submits the form 3 times on the same device, the Network ID for each of those responses will be the same, but the Response ID will be different for each one.

I hope that helps!

Liz, this is very helpful, thank you! To clarify, if we see three responses from the same Network ID, could these be from three different computers on the same internal network (e.g. working for the same company in the same office building)? Or would they have to be from the same exact computer?

Hi @AmeliaSarah Not a problem! It’s based on the IP address of the respondent, so it would be tied to one computer on one network!
