We’re ‘the fun’ people. Or, at least, that’s what other departments think of us, the Employee Engagement Specialists at Typeform. As much as we love that label; for us, engagement goes beyond that. This often involves raising awareness of important issues along with other teams for the company and the employees. With these efforts, we want to create a space where meaningful conversations can happen.
Pride Month is one of the topics we need to raise awareness for. It is an opportunity to embrace and celebrate diversity. It is also a moment to reflect and realize society still has a long way to go.
Diversity is much more than changing a company's logo colours for a month. Typeform believes that a company should actively promote diversity and enable employees to be their true selves at work. That's why this month, we are launching many external and internal initiatives, such as the creation of a global and local resources page for LGBTQIA people for our employees and a little message and crafted PRIDE stickers to be sent to all employees.
Typeform also made the decision to match all of our Bonus.ly donations to the Trevor Project for a month. On top of that, we are also working on developing a company-wide diversity, equity and inclusion strategy. This is not just to tick the box – will be an ongoing journey towards a diverse, equal and inclusive environment for our employees.
But as I said, we're ‘the fun’ people. Pride Month is also a great opportunity to celebrate and empower the LGBTQIA community. This is why we organized a Typeform’s Got Talent Concert: PRIDE EDITION (yes, that’s how we named it) under one theme: Empowerment! Over 100 employees joined to hear and cheer our talented typeformers, while we were sending a powerful and empowering message. But why don’t you check out for yourself?
This concert was one of those occasions in which you feel proud of having so many inspiring colleagues that care. What a lovely experience!
