Add Scoring to Hidden Values

Hi All,

I’m looking for help from the community to create a survey/quiz that helps investors clarify their investment strategy.

Here is an example of one question:

1. How long do you want to invest for?

  • a) less than 1 year
  • b) 1-5 years
  • c) 5-10 years
  • d) 10+ years

Each Answer needs to add a value i.e. ‘1’ to an answer of each outcome category option:

i.e. if ‘A’ is selected above all the below options for each outcome category get 1 point

New vs Existing Growth vs Yield Risk Tolerance Property Type Location Purpose
Existing Growth Aggressive House City Flip, Spec

Outcome Category Options:

New vs Existing

  • New
  • Existing

Growth vs Yield

  • Growth
  • Existing

Risk Tolerance

  • Aggressive
  • Growth
  • Balanced

Property Type

  • House
  • Townhouse
  • Apartment

Location

  • City
  • Region

Purpose

  • Flip
  • Spec
  • Long term hold
  • BRRR

At the end of the quiz the user should get a recommendation:

New vs Existing

  • New

Growth vs Yield

  • Growth

Risk Tolerance

  • Balanced

Property Type

  • House

Location

  • City

Purpose

  • Flip

New vs Existing

  • New

Growth vs Yield

  • Growth

Risk Tolerance

  • Balanced

Property Type

  • House

Location

  • City

Purpose

  • Flip

If I create the results as hidden fields i.e. New, Growth etc. Can I add a score to the hidden field and then show custom results based on their answers at the end???

Appreciate any ideas here

@john.desborough is definitely your guy when it comes to variables!

@MattDanger - to start with, don’t create as hidden fields, these are simply custom variables that you need to create within the form.

if you have the ‘logic rules’ or path to the various outcomes already written down on paper, you can simply put them into the form - adding the appropriate ‘points’ to the variables on each question, until you reach the penultimate question/page.

there you will need to use teh @recall function in the typeform to display the results on either a statement page or an ending.

i’ve built out several of these in the past and the secret is really putting it down on paper first.
