Calculation of the "Drop-off" rate

Forum|alt.badge.img+5

Hello,

I have a question regarding the calculation of the "Drop-off" rate at question level in the Results.

On my contact page, I use Typeform to classify in-bound leads and redirect them to other parts of the site. The first 3 options are URL redirect, which require to press on Submit to then be redirected. I have a very high drop-off, which surprises me as it is a single select.

The question is: does pressing submit when there is a redirection is considered a drop-off, as the user did not interact with another page of the form?

Additional question: is there a way to redirect directly without having to click on Submit.

Hey @jeremielp I’ve just checked with the team who built the drop-rate calculation feature and they said: “the redirect happens after the submission, so we still track it as a regular submission regarding insights. This means that the answer is no, it's not considered dropoff.” I hope that helps.

Regarding content optimising here are a couple of webinars we’ve run previously that might give you some tips (including @john.desborough ‘s take on using the drop-offs feature):

Hi @jeremielp I think it might be worth changing up the text on the first question, but @James might have some better insights on this. The only reason I mention this is that it might make the form feel a bit more inviting to say something like, “Congrats on moving! How can we assist your move?” (Or something of that nature)

As for the redirect, I’m afraid the form does need to be submitted in order for this to execute.

Yeah, I am working on the copy at the moment. Any insights on the drop-off rate calculation would be appreciated.

Thanks a lot @James

My concern with the redirect requiring clicking on a submit is that, some people may select an option, then nothing happen, and they don’t see that they have to click on the submit to continue, causing a drop.

Maybe I will integrate both forms together to avoid this redirect.

Good point @jeremielp I think merging the forms and setting up some extra logic for the redirected questions is a good option 👍
