Changing style on welcome page

if you go to the Layout on your welcome screen (upper right hand corner) you can choose various options including flush left with image as shown below - it ws using the layout in the upper left of the layout grids but i chose the one highlighted. 

adding space between paragraphs is as simple as hitting the enter key to force the space.
