Email format in form

Using the ‘email’ type in a form isn’t recognizing email addresses with a period before the @. For example, john.smith@isp.com. The form pops up “Hmm… that email doesn’t look right”.

I tried searching for a solution but no luck. Any way to change the default or do I need to just change entry to a text field?

Hi Liz,

I just heard back from the end user after some troubleshooting. They were copy/pasting the email address in and it may have been picking up a space or tab or something else. Typing it in manually made it work so problem solved. Wanted to post here too in case others have a similar issue and this helps resolve it for them. The error coming up was this.

Hi @Leatherfoot I created a test form and noticed the message shown here. Are you seeing this as well? I’ve asked our product team why this is happening.

Oh! Thank you, that’s good to know. I also copy/pasted, and I had the same issue, but the developers couldn’t reproduce it, so that would explain why. I’ll share this with them, @Leatherfoot !
