Hi @elisonv Happy Wednesday! You could add this on the welcome screen or in the description of the question here: 

@elisonv - to extend what @Liz mentions, what i have done with multiple clients, is to put a short statement page after the welcome screen that has a note about the * …. something like: “Throughout this form there are required and optional questions - any time you see a “*” the question is required.”

It’s not perfect but seems to work for most folks.
