Hello Typeform community,

I’m currently using image-based answer choices and was wondering if it’s possible to freely move the answer choices around on the page.

I’m not referring to changing their order within the grid, but rather being able to position each image anywhere on the screen (for example, placing them in different areas for a more custom layout).

Is this kind of flexible positioning possible in Typeform, or is it a limitation of the tool?

Thanks in advance for your help 🙂

I don’t think Typeform supports truly freeform positioning of image answer choices on the screen the way a custom landing page builder would. In the standard builder, image answers still live inside Typeform’s own layout system, so you can usually control ordering, columns, and overall presentation, but not place each image arbitrarily at exact coordinates.

If the goal is a more visual selection experience, the closest practical workarounds are usually:

  1. use image choice blocks with the cleanest layout available in the builder
  2. split the experience across multiple questions so each screen stays visually simple
  3. embed the form inside a page where the surrounding design does more of the heavy lifting

So short answer: this sounds like a current product limitation, not just a hidden setting.
