when i try to connect google to imprt a form

Hi @MatthewWales Thanks for sharing that screenshot with the error message! Let me ask the technical team on this for you.

Hi again, @MatthewWales ! Our technical team says that this is sometimes caused by a permission within the Google Workspace. Do you happen to know if there is a permission setting in your Google org that prevents users from connecting to applications?

Good question Liz - let me find out for us

Anyone encountered this issue when trying to import Google Forms and ways to fix it?

Do they know what permissions - could they share a screenshot? please

Hi @MatthewWales I don’t have a screenshot offhand, but I believe it is a permission setting around installing/connecting to apps! If that helps a bit.

@eleanor Do you happen to know if your organization has the same setting?

You are right that I’m also having an issue with Google Workspace. @MatthewWales @Liz

But I never had issue with any other integrations services. I have 80+ third-party access already. All the setting configuration should allow Typeform to access.

I’m the same - all settings allow - only typeform that won’t

Hello,
I have the same issue. Afaik I’m using a personal google account.
Does it only work with workspace accounts?
thanks

I’m using a Co. acct

Having the same issue here.

Thanks, all! Let me ask our product team about this.

Hello Community,

When I attempt to import a Google Form into Typeform, I get an error message when I authenticate my Google email address. The message reads, “This app is blocked. This app tried to access sensitive info in your Google Account. To keep your account safe, Google blocked this access.” How can I unblock this?

Thank you,

GWin

Hi @GWinters I added your post here where we have an open conversation about this! I’m still waiting for some help from the product team on this. 😪

Hi,

I have the solution.

In admin google workspace got to “Security > api commands > application access control”

clique on “configure a new application”

search for application name “typeform” with filter web

choose the application whith id client :

208436311954-admln8qko4cd91kvulbcmbcml8fhtkig.apps.googleusercontent.com

and answers the next step of configuration.

Hi,

I also experience the same message “This app is blocked”.
Steps to reproduce:

  1. Click on the “Import from Google forms” button
  2. Click on the “Authenticate” button
  3. Choose “xxxxx@gmail.com” in the new opened window “Sign in with Google”
  4. Get “This app is blocked” message like described by the other users

I tried with 2 different Google accounts, same reult.
Both of them are personal accounts, and I did not find any setting related to permission or connection from third-party apps in those accounts.
I only have a page listing “Third-party apps and services” already connected, for example Doodle or WhatsApp.

I’ll copy / past manually my (quite long) form in the meantime.

Keep us updated Liz 😉

Thanks so much for sharing your solution, @foulioupe !

@Franck38 Were you able to try the solution above? I also just followed up with our product team on this. 😀

Hi @MatthewWales @eleanor @CEMAS @SUMM @GWinters @foulioupe @Franck38 Our product team let me know that simply clearing the cache should fix the issue! Let me know if that doesn’t work for you.

I was not able to try the solution above as it only works with Google Workspace, and I only have a personnal Google account, so I do not have those settings.

I also tried to clear the cache, but it doesn’t solve my issue.
I tried it several times, closed the tab, and the browser.
Same for you guys?

Here are the steps I followed to clear the cache on Google Chrome 128.0.6613.114 :

  1. Settings → Privacy and security → Clear browsing data → Advanced
  2. Check “Cached images and files”
  3. Click “Clear data”

This solution from @foulioupe worked for me.  Thanks so much!!

Same the solution from @foulioupe worked for me. But for some reason, it said I had no forms to import when I have more than a dozen :(

Hi @eleanor

Try to add more id in your google workspace api conf.

@eleanor and @foulioupe Doe it happen to be a company account? If so, you might need to check your company permissions.

Hi @Liz and all other,

My solution only work with company account.

thanks

Is there a solution that works for personal google accounts?

Thanks!
