Is a GIF distracting? Does it stop them from reading and clicking?

I was recently making a typeform using GIFs. I noticed that the GIF is taking away the attention from the text and the answers.

Please share if you have ever used GIFs, how has your experience been? Is it distracting?

Hi @karan231! This is from another user.

I only use GIFs when they have an explanatory function. Recently I made a typeform which one specific questions required a lot of explaining, so I created a GIF from a Power Point presentation and put it in that question.
In other words, I would use a GIF just if I have no choice. In my experience, using a GIF distracted the users so I tend to avoid it. Besides, it all depends on the goal of your typeform.
But that's just my personal experience, and others may have valuable insights about this topic.

I hope it helps!
