Hi,

We want to implement a emotion meter (5 stages). What do you recommend, how should I build that in Typeform?

Best,

Jeroen

Hi @JeroenCo,

You can use a mixture of different question types in Typeform to create an emotion meter. Here are some questions types you can use, along with the corresponding Help Center article to give you more information:

  • Ranking question - Lets respondents take a list of options and rank them in order of preference.
  • Rating question - Respondents can rate something on a scale from 1-10 with icons. You can change the scale to be less than 10 if you’d like. You have the option to change the rating icons to things such as stars, hearts, thumbs up and lighting bolts.
  • Opinion Scale question - Respondents can rate something on a numbered scale from 1-10. You can also change the scale to be less than 10.
  • Matrix question - If you have the same set of answer choices for different statements, the Matrix question type might be a good option. This allows you present statements in a grid and respondents can rate each statement with the same set of answer choices.
  • Picture choice - You can create a multiple choice question and ask respondents to rate how they feel with picture options. You can change the picture choices to be emotion icons to make it visually easy for respondents to select their answers.

I hope this helps with creating an emotion meter and let us know if you have any other questions.

@JeroenCo - @Phoebe VA gave you a great list with which to start.

Keep in mind, that if you want to do some scoring calculations and branching logic based on the responses within the typeform, some of the question types (ie matrix and ranking) don’t allow for logic rules to be applied - at this time - against the answers to those questions.

you’ll need to figure out your desired outcome, based on some form of scoring probably, and walk backwards to the questions that will give you the ability to collect the ‘scores’ you need in the typeform.

just my two cents worth.
