Replace recall customized

I would like to replace a full name selected from a drop down list with a nickname to be used in Recall for later questions. 

Q2 Who are you reviewing today? Drop down options: Michael Q. Adams; Elizabeth May; Jane Doe

Somewhere I’d like to associate those answers with more personal alternatives for Recall. Recall would replace Michael Q. Adams with Mike; Elizabeth May with Beth; or Jane Doe with Jane. For example:

Q3 How many times have you worked with Beth over the last year?

Anyone have luck making something like this work?
