Zip Code - The 5 characters need to be numbers only

You can try the Number question type instead and set the max character limit to 5. You can only enter numbers with the Number question type. Hope this helps!

Thank you for your suggestion. I had tried this but under the Number question, the Max feature is not characters it is the highest number, therefore, if I enter the number 6 or higher, an error pops up. I tried putting the max number at 99999 to cover the 5 digits, but now you can enter the number 1 only and move to the next question. If I turn on the minimum number to be 10000, then I’ll get about 90% of the zip codes as there are still close to 3,700 zip codes in 8 states and 2 U.S. territories that start with a zero and can’t be entered.

I’ve settled on using the Short Text question type where I can make the Max characters 5, but now you can enter letters along with numbers as there is option to make this field numbers only.

I spoke with the support team and they are going to pass this on to the development team. I’m really surprised this simple format requirement for zip code is not there as I’ve used this with other questionnaire or survey applications.

Ah my apologies, I forgot that the Number question type is max number and not max characters. You could use the Address question type but unfortunately it also includes the entire address fields. 

Glad you were able to chat with the support team and pass this on as a feature request. I’m sure others would also appreciate this option.
