Question

Do you think people are losing the ability to enjoy silence, or has silence simply become outdated in a hyper‑connected world?

Silence used to mean rest, reflection, boredom, creativity. Now it often feels like a glitch — like something’s wrong if your phone isn’t buzzing or your mind isn’t occupied

Does silence still help people think, or do modern tools replace that?

Hey @Tap Jnr this is an interesting topic! I’ve moved your discussion to the Coffee Talk section for people to join in with if they have any thoughts or opinions. 😊

I definitely appreciate silence more and more, I find it necessary to relax, reflect, and recharge!

If cauliflower can become pizza, you my friend can do anything” is pure motivational comedy gold. It’s the kind of line that makes people laugh but also low‑key nod in agreement.

I like how you balanced the thoughtful vibe about appreciating silence with that playful punchline. It shows you can be reflective and cheeky in the same breath. Silence really does hit different when you use it to recharge instead of just filling it with noise.

I don't think people are losing the ability to enjoy silence. I think we've just reached a point where there's always something competing for our attention. The moment we have a few seconds to ourselves, we instinctively pick up our phone, play music, or open social media. Silence hasn't become outdated, we've just stopped making space for it. Whenever I spend some time away from screens, I realize how calming quiet can actually be. It reminds me that the problem isn't silence itself, it's how difficult we've made it to experience it.

Couldn’t agree more @bloxy there’s so much competing for our attention now. We shouldn’t really have to make time for space and silence, but it seems necessary to do so. It’s important to slow down and be in the moment too.

Sure, this happens with my friend too. 😂 He's completely glued to his phone playing Roblox, and Blox Fruits is pretty much the only game he plays. The thing he complained about the most was how annoying it was to keep checking the Blox Fruit trading list, so since I had some free time, I ended up creating a website for it. Lol.
