Google Tag Manager shows me thousands of other companies' typeform urls !
Hi All, not sure if other people are bothered by this, but we have connected a few of our typeforms with our Google Tag Manager implementation. Now the new GTM container quality feature tells me about 4,500 of my pages aren’t tagged properly. It also shows me all these urls which are actually all (?) the other typeform implementations. This is obvioulsy a big noise factor for me but also seems totally inappropriate for Google/Typeform to expose all these form urls in this way.
Is there a solution for this so I don’t get these alerts? - Seems I have to delete them 100 at the time or so which is the only way to get rid of these alerts.

@JohanMM Oh that’s definitely odd. Do you mind sharing one of the forms where you have GTM installed so I can share this with our product team? Thanks in advance!
I am getting the exact same issue, with over 3000 ‘untagged’ pages. Please tell me how this can be stopped from happening.
Hi @doireallyhaveto Do you mind sharing how you have GTM installed? Or if you could share the URL to the form, if you’re still having this issue, that would be handy!
It seems that the issue is resolved now.
Ah glad to hear it, @doireallyhaveto ! Let us know if there’s anything else we can help with.
This has now become an issue again, this time with 611 ‘untagged pages’ which are all other people’s typeforms.
Hi @doireallyhaveto Do you mind sharing the URL to one of the forms so I can take a look? Thanks!
I’ve already removed them all and won’t have access to them until the issue occurs again as I’m not going to just leave them there! You should be able to access the forms from the urls shown in the screen shot? Or do you mean that you want the urls for my forms?
Oh sorry! I meant one of your typeforms, @doireallyhaveto ! That way, I can see how GTM is added to the form and ask the product team for help, if needed.
Thanks Liz,
All of my forms are embedded on my website which has GTM installed and then my forms are all connected to GTM through Typeform.
I think I know what is causing this to happen sometimes, but not all the time.
The additional form ‘tags’ appear after I have done a preview in GTM and when I visit the page with a form on, another ‘tag assistant’ window appears in the embedded form area. I then get an alert (see image below)
I suspect that by accepting that, it then adds the typeform.com domain as a ‘tagged page’ in GTM.
Hi @doireallyhaveto Got it, thank you! If you’re able to send the URL of any of your forms, I can share this with our developers to check if this is what’s causing the issue or if it’s something else.
Do you want the url of the form, or the url of the page it’s embedded into?
Hi @doireallyhaveto If you could send the URL where the form is embedded, that would be great!
Hi @doireallyhaveto Thank you! Have you integrated each form itself with Google Analytics? If not, I would first suggest doing that (in addition to GTM) and ensure that Google Analytics isn’t being deployed onto the forms through GTM.
Yes, every form has been integrated with Google Analytics and GTM

One solution could be filtering out Typeform URLs in GTM's container settings or using custom rules to exclude them from tracking. If that's not possible, you might want to check if Typeform or GTM offers a bulk URL management feature to streamline cleanup.
Hi @doireallyhaveto I checked with our technical team on this, and they did let me know that this is showing the typeforms that have agreed to be indexed, so this is expected behavior. If you would like to filter them so you don’t see every single form, you would want to reach out to Google support for further help with this!
Thanks, but I don’t see how Google are responsible for the fact that integrating typeform with GTM also adds every indexed form from your service.
That feels like a flaw with you guys and the implementation of your integration with GTM?
Never had this issue with anyone else, and it seems you’re just passing the buck. Have to say my whole experience with Typeform this time round has been nothing but disappointment in terms of functionality and general ‘sort it out yourself’ attitude for a paid service.
I won’t be recommending the platform in the future.
Hi @doireallyhaveto I completely understand the frustration, however, I’m afraid we don’t have any control over the forms that have chosen to be searched for by Google. The reason you will want to contact Google is because they will be able to help filter out the forms that are listed on their search option! We won’t have an option to filter this out within the Typeform integration.
