I use learndash to run asynchronous global cohorts.

I would like to use videoask as a way to:
1. Checking in at the beginning of the course by introducing themselves via videoask.

The videoask requests them to do a self introduction. I’d like every response to the videoask to show up on the page where the videoask is.

2 Answering questions/sharing comments.

Throughout the course I’d like to ask a question via videoask for participants to reply to and be able to see/hear each other’s answers.

I have tried using Zapier, but each time a new reply comes in, it over writes previous replies.

How can I set this up?

Tagging @Grace in case she has any ideas to help here!

Hey @Jimbo good to see you here!

The response embed options are a bit limited. Would embedding the inbox work?

Are all the responses coming in via the same videoask? If you embedded the inbox people could click through and see each respondent.

That could do the trick. How would I do that?

Sorry, when I asked how to do that I didn’t see the hyperlink which explained everything.

So yeah, this will work nicely.

One question I do have:

is there a way where the embedded inbox can look like this:

Instead of this:

I ask as the user interface is a bit clunky in the default version...

And while I am here…

Is there a way where captions are turned on by default for the videos and audios?

Just checking if the above two questions got lost in the weekend/topic.

1 can we embed the whole player into a webpage instead of just the answers?

This makes it more interesting for the view and easier to “scroll” through answers than having to click ona name and then go back.

2 Is there a way where the video captions are turned on by default when embedding?

My audience is global and mostly non-native english speaking. Having the captions on by default would make it more accessible.

Thanks

Hey @Jimbo sorry for the delayed reply, I was off yesterday.

There isn’t a way to customize the embedded inbox at this stage, it’s still quite basic. I will share this feedback with the team though.

In terms of the video captions being turned on, would that be for responses?

I can understand that.

Our workaround has been to embed the videoask above the responses:

For the captions, yes, the idea would be if they click on any of the responses, that the video would play with the captions on by default to increase the accessibility.

Hey @Jimbo thanks for sharing your workaround, great idea!

At the moment you can only force captions to appear on the videoask itself, it’s not possible to do on a response. So someone watching it will need to switch it on. I’ve shared the feedback with the product team, it’s not something that’s currently on the roadmap but they were keen to hear about your setup.

I will keep you posted if any changes happen!
