Using VideoAsk Variables with ConvertKit Thank You Page

Using VideoAsk as a ConvertKit thank you page could be great if you could use VideoAsk variables. (

This way you could say hi to each new subscriber on your e-mail list and respond without having to ask them for an e-mail address.

Right now that is not possible, because ConvertKit does not allow us to put variables inside the thank you page confirmation url.

Could you please help and give your vote to this feature request? (So that we can use VideoAsk variables inside ConvertKit confirmation URL’s)

Hey Anja!

Awesome idea, I’m not super familiar with ConvertKit but it would be great if you could use VideoAsk variables to personalize the experience more and not have to ask for contact details.

There are so many different ways our users are integrating VideoAsk into their work flow, thank you so much for sharing this, I’m going to pass it on to the team as it’s always great to get feedback and ideas for future development.

Let me know if you have any questions, or feel free to VideoAsk the support team here:blush:

To use VideoAsk variables with a ConvertKit thank you page, you will need to use the "Custom Redirect" option within the videoask form settings. This will allow you to specify a custom URL to redirect the user to after they submit their response.

To pass the Video Ask variables to ConvertKit, you will need to include them in the query string of the redirect URL. For example, if you want to pass the user's name and email address to ConvertKit, you can include them in the URL.

You can then use the ConvertKit API or custom code to retrieve these variables from the query string and use them to add the user to a ConvertKit email list or trigger other actions.

Keep in mind that you will need to have a ConvertKit account and API key to use the ConvertKit API, and that you will need to have some knowledge of web development to implement the custom code needed to retrieve and use the variables.
