Hi everyone,

I’m trying to set up a Zap to send data from VideoAsk responses to a table in Airtable, and I’m having trouble with mapping the fields. I see how to map the text field from “All Responses” in the VideoAsk trigger to a long text field in Airtable. However, I don’t see any data coming through in the trigger for the media (audio and video files). Can someone please help?

Additionally, is there a way to send each of the text and media responses to a separate field for each question in Airtable, or must they all be sent to the same field?

Thanks!!

Emily

@Emily Corrigan I haven’t mapped VideoAsk to Airtable before, but wondering if you have this help article assisting you?

Hi thanks Ash. I’ve seen this article but it unfortunately doesn’t cover the question. It just shows mapping the media URL for all media responses to one field in Airtable, but I don’t see this media URL actually coming through in the trigger data. Separately, I also haven’t found a way to map each response to a different field in Airtable vs having it all lumped together. If anyone knows that would be great. Thanks!!

Hey @Emily Corrigan thanks for your response. I just jumped in and had a go setting up a base and was able to pass this data through to Airtable to see if I can assist you further. I was able to test this out now and can share with you the following:

For my VideoAsk I tried it on I set the email as contact info and then had a video and audio long form response to a question like you are trying to achieve. I then set up the Zapier and mapped the following fields:

ZAPIER

Within Airtable I set the following fields (the one indicating ‘notes’ above I have since edited to say Media URL, but it relates to that field). The key one here is that the data comes through as Media URL as you see below for video and audio files in particular, so you need to set the format as a link for that field, as opposed to a long text field.

AIRTABLE

You should also be able to make subsequent columns to receive each subsequent long form video or audio submission from your respondent. I haven’t trialled that, but there should be no reason you can’t do this. Just make sure you ensure the field type is edited accordingly as per the above and you will need to go through and map each individually.

I hope this helps resolve the issue you were having.

If you are trying to change the type of field, be sure to click the little arrow in the top right corner, then rename the column and change the field type as screenshot below.
