Field ID's change every time I duplicate a form

Is there a way to prevent field ID’s from changing everytime we duplicate a form? I duplicate a lot of forms and I have like 40 fields in a Zapier Zap I also duplicate. But although its the same fields and nothing has changed, I have to “re-link” all 40 fields in Zapier to the new form because the ID’s changed. The only thing we should update is the duplicated form itself.

Is there any solutions or workarounds I can do in either Typeform or Zapier?

Hi @workfuel Happy Wednesday! I hope you’re having a good one. I’m afraid we aren’t able to prevent the IDs from changing, as that would cause confusion between the two forms.

However, do you mind sharing your use case for this? I’m happy to pass that along to the product team!

@Liz  I use it to duplicate an entire workflow for different clients.

  1. Duplicate Form on Typeform
  2. Duplicate Zap on Zapier

@Liz just curious, why do the field IDs change if they are two completely different forms? It would seem you could have the same field ids with different form ID’s.

Hi @workfuel The IDs are unique to each form so that our system can identify them properly as well. However, I can share this feedback with our product team!
