Multiple Likert Score Form

Hello,

I need to build a form that has 7 group questions that are all Likert scores. Each group is given a score with the end screen providing a total for each group topic. There is no range, simply a score. How do I do this? Please provide step-by-step directions. Thank you.

Sincerely,

Marie

Hello @Dr. Marie Filion thanks for your question. You can score Likeart scale-type questions in groups using a combination of:

  • Opinion scale questions (grouped into question groups)
  • Custom variables - to hold the total score for each group of scores (e.g. group_1_score, group_2_score, etc.)
  • Scoring calculations - to add the score of the answer to each question to this group variable
  • Add a Statement block at the end of each group and recall the group score (using the @ symbol and selecting the corresponding group score).

Here’s an example of what you might do. I’ve made a little video to explain how I made that: https://typeform.zoom.us/clips/share/ZOoaBsFRTPqNj0WhsgXd3g

I hope I’ve understood this correctly, but if this doesn’t cut the mustard let me know a bit more about what you’re trying to achieve and I can try and tweak the solution accordingly :)

Thanks!

Wow James,

That is brilliant. Thank you for very much for the video. I think that will help as I design it. There is one more tweak. On my final end screen, I need the individual scores (not adding up all the scores form the individual group questions) for each assessment. I would imagine that I can use the @ feature to grab the total score somehow. This final end screen will allow the participant to see all their scores.

Much appreciated! @James

Sincerely,

Marie

No worries @Dr. Marie Filion :) Yes exactly, on the end screen you could recall each of the “group” score variables individually and display them. e.g.

For pet care you scored: @group_1_score
For child care you scored: @group_2_score
For personal care you scored: @group_3_score

Make sense? Feel free to share your finished form - happy to give any suggestions for how you might tweak things if needed 😀

Cheers

James
