Hi everyone, I am new on here, I am the founder of DarrensVoice a nonprofit 501c3, if anyone is looking for a nonprofit to support, we are a tax exempt, we have had a hard time getting funded this year, we serve a community that has had dark times, sadly this county has had the highest fentanyl death rate since 2019 with out any warning to the public ,sadly they were all considered overdose, then in 2022 we loss our son, he had caught a ride home with someone he knew, this caused him to trust this guy by accepting a pill he had given my son, he was told it was a pain pill, the color, shape, size, the numbers on the pill it all was identical to a Percocet, what he did not know was it contained a deadly amount of Fentanyl, Our son died alone, instead of getting help he left him at 12:00 am in his back yard, the next morning our granddaughter found her father, We knew our son was not an addict so how could he overdose? We had an autopsy and that was the first time we had ever heard of Fentanyl, that when we found out that this county had the highest fentanyl death rate since 2019 which was 3 years before our son and yet no one did a pubic health warning , they never announced anything except overdose, There was no Free Narcan, No Investigation, No arrest, I swore then that I would make sure every parent knows what we did not!! I got my 501c3 and hit the front line, yes boots on the ground, I got my mega mic and Free Narcan, I stood on the side of the road , scream to anyone to listen, My son would not die in Vain, I would go and fight for all these lives being lost, I went to legislation fighting to get Narcan in all NC schools, but my fight was in Richmond county at this time, yes this community has addicts, but no shelter nor soup kitchen, they had no one letting them know that they loved them , no one to encourage , see we gave more than a box of Narcan we give with ot hugs, lets them know we love them and we got there back to, sadly with the average age18-45 this is child bearing age, so many children in this community has lost either one or both parent to this poison, in this community now those children are left to their grandparent's who can barely put food in their mouth, and what is sad is that this county gets over 200,000 a year for opioid funds, Funds they are supposed to use in the most affected communities, I do think that would be East Rockingham, sadly not one dime has been spent in this community, We asked for a structure to serve this community, a go to but was denied, we had our own land we just needed a place , we could hold NA, AA, Greif groups, we could serve meals, we could do much more, I went to apply for toys are tots and they department of social services had to be the coordinator so families would have to go through them, that lets me know I will have to try to come up with donations for Christmas, we do all kinds of events in this community to let these children know we got them and lift the parents up letting them know they not alone, I know this is so ;long but I needed to get all that off my chest, It is not right ,the same organization get the funding and the one working on the other side of the tracks get nothing, Thank yall for listening and if yall donate or have friends that want to donate or sponsor a orginaztion that is serving a community that needs the help especially during the Holidays, We have a trunk a treat on Halloween so the kids have a safe place to come and enjoy, Yall we have a candy list at Walmart for our trunk a treat, donate candy if you can its Darrensvoice, 99-1565829 Thank yall
Hope for the Hoildays
