Skipping File Upload Question

Hey there,

I currently have a File Upload question as part of my typeform. It is NOT set to “Required”, but I can’t figure out how to make the question optional (i.e. if someone doesn’t have a file to upload, they can skip/move on to the next question). Any help would be appreciated!

@AdCenter - this is from a user:

maybe insert a yes/no question in front of the file upload asking them if they want to upload a file.. use the logic jump then to bypass the file upload question if they choose no

Thanks - appreciate the tip!

Was hoping there’d be a solution that doesn’t involve an extra step for the user, but such is life.

there is probably a more elegant way around it but it was the easiest thing for me to do in my case lol..

hopefully one of the Typeform-ers will have the correct answer for you shortly..

Hi @AdCenter ! Thanks for stopping by. :) @john.desborough ‘s workflow is a great idea. The respondent can skip over the file upload if they use the arrows at the bottom right corner or scroll past the question, but if this design doesn’t quite work for you, I’d definitely suggest setting up what @john.desborough mentioned!

The blue arrows are very non-intuitive. It would be much better if there's an extra button: ‘next’.

Can you please make the “submit” button visible so that people can easily skip this question? It’s incredibly confusing otherwise.

Hi @eddiek If your respondents scroll past the file upload or use the arrows at the bottom, they should be able to see the submit button.

Hey Liz, I hear you, but when you’re on a desktop browser, its really not obvious that you should be scrolling

I can certainly pass that feedback along to our product team, @eddiek . 😁
