creating branches after receiving responses in order to facilitate responses

Hi there, I set-up a questionnaire on a group A and group B but i let them answer the same questionnaire.   In the reporting however i would like to split these two groups.

can i have typeform do that, or do  i need to export to excel and split myself?

i have also thought about retroactively introducing branches in the questionnaire (by duplicating the questions that i want to separate for between groups and creating extra branches) but not sure if that would work…. (i could try but am concerned to lose all my responses...)

Hi @hendrik Thanks for stopping by! We don’t have this feature within Typeform, but I can suggest using Data Studio to setup your own specific reports. We have a handy post below to help you set this up!

I hope this helps! Let us know how this goes for you.

@hendrik - just a reminder, of old school tips and tricks, to make a copy of your form before you consider making any changes to test out your idea(s) …

to avoid impacting something that is in production, it is always good to make sure you are testing changes on a copy.

If you want them to go through the same form, you could have a hidden field called group

When you distribute the form to the two groups, they will have different links.
For Group A: https://form.typeform.com/to/abc123?group=A

For Group B: https://form.typeform.com/to/abc123?group=B

In the results section, you will see alongside their responses their group.
But if you want to do the filter by group: (“give me all the answers from group A”), then it’s probably easier to do that in Excel or Google Spreadsheet.
