Optional question - drop off rate

Hi there,

 

I was wondering how is the drop off rate calculated in Insights for the questions that are not marked as required. My 2 cents is that questions that are optional/not marked as required should not have the drop off rate calculated if my respondents decided they want to skip that question.

 

Could you please let me know how are things working behind the scenes?

Hi again, @AM09 The product team let me know that there isn’t any difference in the calculations, whether or not the question is marked as required.

Hi @AM09 This is a great question. I asked the product team to confirm how this is calculated because I’ve actually not thought about that. I’ll let you know what they say!

Hi @Liz, thanks for answering my questions! So just to make sure that I’ve understood - even if a question is not marked as required, if my respondents do not provide an answer to it, then the question has drop-off calculated in Insights, right?
