Any New Product Updates Planned for VideoAsk

Hi VA Team,
I’d like to use and recommend VA as a core tool in my agency/consultancy. However, I haven’t seen any new product updates, major or minor, in quite some time.

Also, some of the option seem outdated (for instance, no text overlay formatting options, the video chat page is a dead link, widgets, embed and video players are desktop-first) etc.

Is the product just on maintenance at this point or can we expect new features, bug fixes, etc. soon?

All information seem to end in 2023 early 2024 as far as I can tell.

VideoAsk is still live and supported, and we currently have no plans to stop supporting the product. We have a small team that works on video and more recently they’ve shifted their focus to bringing video features into Typeform, as having both products working together is one of our most requested features. 

You are welcome to get stuck in with VideoAsk (would love it if you could share the dead link you found so I can get that fixed!) or alternatively, you might like to take a look at the new video features in Typeform. You can record or upload your video questions and collect video responses and we’re just about to release audio only options too.

It’s a little disappointing because it seems like you’re confirming we shouldn’t expect any updates on the VA side of things if we decide to get “stuck in” (at least not any time soon.)

That’s unfortunate, VA has so much potential as we move even deeper into a mobile-first video centric environment.

I don’t have any interest in Typeform as a form builder. It’s a desktop-first solution imo and adds elements I don’t need for my use case. 

My interest in VA is more for mobile-first video engagement and video funnels. But it’s lagging behind in key areas that could be enrich for those use cases.

I was hoping that mobile-first vision was something the company saw as well but there’s clearly a shift in focus and priority. Video yes, but not mobile-first.

(I understand, go where the money is to keep those form users.)

If VA is no longer a priority, maybe you all can open up under the hood like Cal.com does? (That’s asking for too much I know - 🤣)  But if Tf is redistributing resources to the form business, maybe that’s a way to go.

If VideoAsk appears stagnant, check their official blog, roadmap, or community forums for updates. Reach out to support for clarity on feature development. If updates have paused, consider alternatives like Tally or Typeform with better video support. For continued use, suggest improvements via feedback channels—they may influence upcoming updates or beta access.

Hi ​@Dex C I totally understand the disappointment, I’ve passed your comments on to our product team as I think it’s important for us to be aware of, especially with more people choosing to create on their mobile vs desktop. 

I’m not sure about going under the hood - but I will ask! Who knows…
