Videoask Bug - important!

Important! Videoask is no longer usable for us and our customers! Recently, you have to click 4 times for the video to start correctly with sound on a smartphone or desktop. This is a disastrous feature and our customers are complaining heavily. Please change this back immediately to a video functionality that starts the video with sound after a single click. Otherwise, we won't be able to use the tool anymore. We are very dissapointed to that…

Have you had the same experience? How are you dealing with it? No user is going to click 4 times just to get the video to start properly.

Hi @Alex-Germany welcome to the community and thanks for flagging this. Would you mind sharing the URL to your videoask or wherever it’s embedded so we can check what’s happening?

Mobile Version and Desktop Version is the problem… it takes to many klicks to get the video start correct with sound. Until a few days ago, everything was still functioning perfectly everywhere.

Hi @Alex-Germany I’ve just tested and when I click on the widget it opens the modal and the video plays as expected. Have you tried testing on different browsers?

Of course, we tested on several smartphones and in three browsers: Chrome, Safari, and Firefox on iOS 17.

The problem persists. After the user clicks on the widget for the first time, a still image of the thumbnail is displayed. Following a second click on the image, the play button appears. A third click is necessary to start the video, but there is no sound. A fourth click is required to ensure the video plays from the beginning and, at last, with sound.

Of course, we have tested the problem on several devices, both desktop and smartphone, as well as in three different browsers each. On the desktop, it works directly after clicking the widget with sound, which is great, as it should be and has been in recent months. However, this problem still occurs on mobile.

The problem of having to click four times before the video starts correctly with sound is still present, and it puts me in a difficult position when explaining it to my clients. Several have stated that they do not want to accept this situation. I am relying on your help to ensure that the videos start correctly, especially on mobile devices. When can we expect a fix? Thank you!

Hmm that’s strange that it was working for me @Alex-Germany 🤔

Would you mind sending this to the VideoAsk support team (support@videoask.com) so they can investigate what the issue is? Thank you 🙏
