Designing a beardedman type quiz

Can you suggest an expert that can help us design a quiz similar to the bearded man quiz?

Best answer by James

Hey @zach nice to have you here. Here are some things I think could help you:

  • I've written a step-by-step guide to how Beardbrand built their quiz here, which explains how they put it together.
  • If you want to get started quickly, here's a personality quiz template which you can copy to your Typeform account and you'll just need to change the questions, outcomes and answers to match what you want to talk about.
  • Our quiz whizz @amy.carlson recently ran a webinar walking through the creation process. You can watch the recording of that here

Do you have an idea yet for the theme of your quiz? We'll be happy to bounce around ideas for possible approaches here to help you decide how to frame the questions and answers.

Does this help, or are you looking for someone to actually build the quiz for you? If you have budget for this, then it might be worth looking into a Typeform certified expert to make it for you. If not, you could always pop along to our Office Hours today hosted by @Liz and @picsoung who can give you some live advice.

I hope this helps!

Hey @zach welcome. I think my colleague @James may be able to offer some advice here - he'll be back to the community tomorrow.

What do you mean by expert? An agency or just someone in the community giving some 'high level' advice?

The community is definitely a great place for advise. Depending on the level of help you need and how skillful you re at building typeforms the solution may vary.

Are you already building typeforms or would this be your first attempt?

Hi @zach apologies for just seeing this! I see that the link was for the 26th, which might have been the reason for the link confusion! Our next upcoming events are here to join! :grinning:

In the meantime, if you’re stuck at a particular spot building the form, let us know, and we’ll be happy to help!

Hello Liz

i read the article on how beardbrand created their quiz.

we would like to build a short quiz which helps people pick an online marketplace (like amazon, shopify, etc) to sell on. we have 5 questions that we believe will help answer the question. our issue is that we don’t always have 5 answers that would correspond to the five ‘personality categories’ like beardbrand. sometimes the question is simple such as are you just starting your business or have you been selling online for a while: so the answer would be either 1 or 2. In this case its not very clear to  us how to assign values?

we would greatly appreciate your help

Hi @zach Do you happen to have a few of your questions and corresponding outcomes you can share? This will help me provide an example of how to set this up!

For example:

Question 1

Answer A - Outcome 1

Answer B - Outcome 2

Hi @zach The results should appear in the Results panel. Are you seeing anything there? I took the quiz as well and received latte.  So far, it seems like you have the idea of the setup correct! Is there any particular part you’re getting stuck on, such as editing the outcomes or using logic jumps?

Hi Liz

yes indeed its editing the outcomes, of course not editing the content per se but which marketplace should go with which score. as I mentioned above, unlike the bearded quiz, we don’t have five answers to every question as that would have been easy. sometimes ours are a yes or no. would there be a possibility for us to jump on a quick call? thank yo for all your help

Hi @zach We don’t offer phone support, but I made a quick video below to walk you through how to get started using outcomes! We also have step-by-step instructions here. If you’re running into any troubles setting it up, feel free to send over a video as well so I can see where you’re getting stuck.
