Build your videoask

In the past, we were able to “scrub” the video and quickly jump forward/back to find the specific place that captions need to be added. Clicking on the caption start time would also jump the video to that specific time. For at least a few weeks now, both of these features are gone. Now, to go backwards or forwards on the video, we either have to refresh or let it run. We are working around this issue by opening the video in a second browser window and approximating the time using that, but it’s not an ideal solution. Is this working as intended?

I have scripts for the videos that I’m uploading.It would be nice to be able to upload the scripts as subtitles and then have then auto-synced like youtube.The videoask auto-generated subtitles were reasonable for English, but poor for Turkish.I can go through and copy paste script fragments to edit/correct the CC, but this is time consuming.

It keeps loading the wrong video when i move to the next question?

I’m using VideoAsk as interactive educational segments. I would like to end with the option to view the next topic but I cannot see a way to have a button link to a different VideoAsk sequence. Any advice?

My client recorded a 3-minute response that crashed upon uploading. Where is it stored and is there a way to retrieve it?

When removing a step on Videoask, the responses get deleted. I get that. However, I can still access the video file of the videoask response. Is it save to keep this link stored in my DB for future reference or do those videos have an expiration date (assuming the response got deleted as a result of removing step)?

We are building a survey on a public kiosk. We need to “timeout” back to the beginning of the survey should there be no activity for a certain period of time. The problem is if we frame this in a page with a timeout or pop-up the page itself is not aware of any interaction with TypeForm or VideoAsk. 

My VideoAsk has two questions – only the second records responsesI open the videoask link in an incognito window I answer the first question I am taken to the next question I answer the next question I see the “thanks!” screen I log in to videoask admin I navigate to the “Results” page of my video ask I see 0 responses for the first question, and 4 responses for the second. I expect to see 4 responses for both. Any ideas?

@andrew_videoask Is it possible to add both a transparent pause icon to the center of each videoask while playing and instead of a transparent PLAY icon at the end of each videoask….a REPLAY icon instead?I’ve had a number of people go thru my videoask and they didn’t realize they could pause the video while playing (they wanted to take notes) and they also wanted to replay the video at the end to see it again. However, it’s not intuitive without a transparent PAUSE icon during the video and a transparent REPLAY icon at the end of the video, instead of the PLAY icon. I am attempting to have my video editor add a transparent pause button to the center of the video as well as a replay circle that appears at the end of each video embedded in the default play icon at the end of each video.If this isn’t available Andrew, would be great if you could suggest this to the dev team.  Thank you!

Hi guys and girls,Can anyone help me with the calendar feature please?There are two issues which i need to resolve.Appearance Using without linking to a another appointment appThe calendar says “sample meeting” in the top section but i am using the calendar for “appointment booking” not meetings  is there any way to remove or change the sample meeting message secondly I don’t need to link the calendar to any other apppointment app as long as the time and date information is available within the dashboard when reviewing the interactions.Thanking everyone in anticipation  Andy

Hey guys, I am very new here. I am wondering if there is any way to create and use multiple contact forms within a single Videoask flow? Ex: users have multiple splits in their journey and based upon the conditions of their answers I may want to email a certain segment a white paper, another group may prefer to sign up for a webinar, and a third may choose to complete a more extensive contact form. For the first two I only need their name and email, but for the third option i would need a few more additional pieces of info like address, and phone number and 1-3 other custom questions.Is this even possible?

I wish to use videoask for my research project.  To collect qualitative data through one to one questioning. Does the capture information include typed reposes as well as video responses to allow for a transcription on the questions?  And how is data managed and access ?  And do video ask have any ethical policies as well as GDPR ? has anyone else used this form of interview ffor research projects?

When selecting “Collect contact details on this step,” which Answer type should be selected? This is confusing, since the Select answer type dropdown doesn’t provide a “Contact” selection. Thanks for anyone that can help shed some light here. Not having luck with the help documents.

Hi - Help! Is there a way to score Open Ended (video only) response questions from within the Videoask application? I’m sure there’s a solution out here. Hi! I want my users to be able to see the questions while they are recording their answers. It works on desktop (folks can see the overlay text), but on mobile, the question screen disappears and only the recorder screen is viewable. Is there any way to make the question visible on the recording screen? Thank you!

I’ve put together a quick demo similar to my videos.I don’t want the video to be cropped as there are important details near to the edges, so have used the Fit video option.Unfortunately having used the Fit video option, the Adjust video position isn’t available. This is how my video appears on a phone:  I would like all of the multiple choice options to be visible, but don’t want any of them to overlap the video.  This is how I’d like the video to appear: Any suggestions on how this could be achieved?

Following the instructions in VideoAsk’s help articles, it says that to collect contact information, I simply need to toggle this option on (simple,right?) But within the step, I see the toggle, but it will not allow me to toggle it on. What am I missing here? Is it only allowed for certain plans/subscriptions? Here is a video of what I’m referring to:  You may not be able to see/hear at the end, but I am clicking the toggle over and over, nothing is happening. 

I've started using videoask in the last couple of days and like the product.I've passed variables into a videoask and used them to append to url's associated with multiple choice selections.Something I'd really like to be able to do:From a single multiple choice selection   if custom_variable_1 is not "XXXX" use url_1/custom_variable_1   otherwise use url_2/custom_variable_2However, I can’t include variables in the logic. As an alternative, I’m considering simplifying to just one custom variable and passing in the whole url.However, when I try to set the Redirect URL just to custom_variable, I get the error:   This URL looks invalid

If there’s a videoask developer in the Community that may be able to help, please provide their username.I’m attempting to redirect quiz visitors to specific product results page based on answers to their VideoAsk. Ideally, I would be able to tag specific answers on different questions which would have conditional logic and redirect to specific product results page URL’s.For example, if a visitor answers; “Yes,” to the question that asks if they would like to lose 25 pounds or more then, I need to be able to display our weight loss product immediately after the quiz on our product results page.
